Ford Enthusiast From Essex Chooses Duramat Custom Printed Garage Floor Tiles

“Better to look at, nicer to sit in and genuinely rewarding…” reads a typical review of the Ford Focus Titanium X 1.5 T Ecoboost. And although it no doubt applies to the stunningly prepared example owned by Duramat customer John from Harlow, it’s his garage that we’re here to see, and would review using very similar terms!

As we approach his open double garage it becomes clear that where the pursuit of perfection is concerned – of car and garage – John turns everything up to eleven!

His garage is immaculately presented. And it’s not just a presentation box either, this is a working garage where John spends many hours (or even days!) cleaning and detailing every inch, nook and cranny of his car – plus a few that belong to lucky family and friends.

We’re here to deliver the finishing touch for his new Duratile garage floor – a pair of custom printed Duratile interlocking garage floor tiles featuring the famous Ford logo. It looks like the two printed tiles might be the very last piece of the jigsaw for John’s garage – but as we find out he has plenty more ideas for further painting and additional quotes from his hero, Henry Ford.

John’s fantastic garage started life as a concrete slab – the addition of a modular concrete garage – erected in just seven hours – plus a huge electric up and over door provided the basis for what he has now. ‘Sucky’ concrete walls were painted with many litres of paint to achieve a flawless finish – the perfect background for memorabilia and quotes from Ford’s famous founder.

He specified slimline boltless racking filled with tool chests and cupboards for the tools, lotions and potions of the vehicle detailer – so that everything would be super-neat within the smallest footprint. He wanted a floor to match his aspirations for the rest of the project – and not one for a snap decision John took his time to research the range of options available to him, and then an associate in the haulage industry told him about Duramat.

Asked about his Duratile floor, John is clearly happy with his decision:

”I’ll see what I think is a scuff or a mark but then it’ll just wipe off – so I’m really impressed with how tough it is…”

He found it very easy to install, and is very pleased that he decided to lay the tiles under his racking for a truly edge to edge look – even if it did mean a whole weekend of not being able to move in the hall or kitchen where the racking found a temporary home!

His biggest surprise is ‘just how warm it is, after laying on a cold concrete floor it’s quite incredible – and far more comfortable too!’.

Asked about his dealings with Duramat, John summed up his experiences very succinctly ‘a good honest company, good staff and a pleasure to deal with’. Thanks John, we’ll certainly take that!
